We are going to be implementing a new scheme for home reading called ‘Accelerated Reading’ soon at Partington Central Academy.
It’s a new home reader program we will be using in school for KS2 initially (Years 3-6). It will then be rolled out to KS1 at some point in the new year. It is new to pupils and staff!
Your child will continue to bring a home reading book as usual, and will be expected to read 3 times per week. However with those books they will be able to undertake a quiz in school once they have finished the book. All children have been given a username and password for this, (this is not something the parents need to worry about). It is a log in for during school time only. This has been explained to all children.
Children are currently being allocated books to suit their age ranges this week. When this is up and running a letter will be sent next week to explain in more detail.
