Creating a Pro-Social Environment here at PCA!

As you are aware this week is National Anti-Bullying Week (11th-15th November 2019)

At PCA we are keen to develop our existing Anti-Bullying Policy. As a school, we want this to be a ‘living document’ that becomes part of our school culture and ethos, not just something that is referred to during Anti-Bullying Week or as and when these types of behaviours occur, but something that is ‘pro-social’ and promotes ‘healthy friendships.’

In order to do this, we need to agree on a definition of what ‘bullying’ is: one clear definition, that has been agreed, by staff, parents and children alike.

This will be what we define it as in our establishment, not what the dictionary or the DfE define it as.

Therefore, we are asking all parents for your assistance in completing this quick task, which has also been completed by staff and will be completed by children in class this week.  A letter went out this week with your child asking you to think about 5 key words/ phrases that spring to mind when you think about the question: “What is Bullying?”

Please can you make sure that the form has been returned to school by Friday 15th November 2019.

Thanks for your continued support.

Mrs. C. Barrett.
