Keeping Your Child Safe

Safeguarding our students is our absolute first priority.  Every single day we are required to record the whereabouts of every student who is not safely in school learning and having fun.  That is why we ask you to contact school if your child is ill or absent as early as possible on each school day.  When a child is absent from school without notification from parents – our safeguarding team kick into action by making phone calls, home visits and sometimes referrals to other partner services that help to protect children.  If you are planning a holiday please tell us in advance of the absence.  This avoids the school a lot of anxiety trying to find out where a student is and potentially involving other agencies that could cost the public purse a lot of money.
