Home / News / Some ‘healthy’ birthday treats you might want to try!

Remember the good old days, when it was someones birthday at school and their mum or dad brought in a whole boat load of cupcakes with 2 inches of obviously colored frosting on the top?? Yes, those days are long gone.

Most schools have nutrition policies that limit what you can and cannot bring in for your child’s birthday treats to share with the class, and here at PCA we’re no exception – no sweets! Click here to view our  Healthy snack policy PCA 2018.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD WITH NUTS OR FOOD CONTAINING NUTS AS WE
HAVE A NUMBER OF CHILDREN WITH ALLERGIES – THIS INCLUDES NUTELLA OR ANY
CHOCOLATE SPREAD

That doesn’t mean though that you can’t still celebrate your child’s birthday in a fun way with a special and creative treat!

Here are a few fun and healthier treat ideas that would make great birthday snacks for an entire class, or even just a special anyway treat and your child will also help making!

These cheese monsters are so much fun. They’re also the perfect protein boosted snack that your kids need to make it through the end of the school day. You could send them in with some fresh fruit or pretzels.

These awesome monster temporary tattoos for each child to take home. Very cool.

If your children want a sweet snack, but you don’t want to completely overdo the sugar, these Teddy Bears S’mores are perfect. Just a few small marshmallows and mini chocolate chips keeps these way lower in sugar than traditional s’mores. And, hello, adorableness!

If you have more ideas why not share them!
