It’s our pleasure to announce that Mrs Katy Higginson was successful in her application for the role of Head of School at Partington Central Academy. Mrs Higginson was appointed last week and will take up her post on 4th June 2018.

As Head of School, Mrs Higginson will deputise for Miss Edwards and assist in leading the school on a daily basis. Miss Edwards will remain at Partington Central Academy in her current role as Executive Headteacher. The position of Head of School has been a key appointment for the school and will undoubtedly strengthen the leadership team for the future, enabling the school to go from strength to strength.

Mrs Higginson’s role will involve working across both of The Dean Trust primary schools in Partington – Forest Gate Academy and Partington Central Academy. She has previously been in post as a teacher (most recently in Y6) and member of the senior leadership team at Forest Gate Academy.

Mrs Higginson is an outstanding teacher with 10 years experience. She has worked across all year groups and key stages, and has particular expertise in English, maths and PE. She collaborates closely with The Dean Trust Teaching School to train student teachers, and also mentors NQTs (newly qualified teachers) who are new in post. She has extensive leadership experience and her additional responsibilities include leading assessment across all four Dean Trust primary schools.

We’re delighted to be working alongside Mrs Higginson in her new role and we believe she will be an asset to the team.

On behalf of everyone at Partington Central, we would like to extend her a warm welcome and congratulate her on her new role.
