On Monday 2nd March – KS2 have Quidditch sessions where children will be completing some type of Harry Potter activity on this day such as Guided Reading extract, creating an illustration from an extract or creating potions as part of a science lesson.  KS1 are also welcome to take part in any Harry Potter activities.

On Thursday 5th March – everyone is welcome to dress up as their favourite character from a book!!  And there will be opportunities for children to complete some book related activities within their class. We’ll be taking lots of pictures for our newsletter!

On Friday 6th March – There will be no merit assembly. Instead at 2.15pm parents will be able to come into school.  Children have been asked via a letter that has gone out via ping, to bring in a favourite book from home this day to share with their grown up, alternatively they can choose one from the book area.  Any child without an adult can either buddy up with a friend or read with the teacher/TA.  There will also be some activities on hand for parent and child to complete together e.g. create a book mark, write a review, design a new illustration etc.  If parents have more than 1 child, you can spend 10 mins with one child and move on to the next class!  At 3pm, the parents will leave and be asked to wait for their children in the normal pick up place and the children can get their things and be dismissed at 3.05pm as usual.

There will also be a reading competition that we have sent out in previous years and will be sent home with the children to complete.

Any returned or photos need to be sent to office@partingtoncentralacademy.co.uk by Friday 6th March and we will pick out 1 winner and 2 runner ups.

Happy Reading!!
