Premier League Schools Competition

For the second consecutive year Partington Central Academy (last year as Partington Primary School) competed in the national Premier League Schools Competition in the Manchester United qualifying group.

Over a full week, schools from across Greater Manchester compete to represent Manchester United in a national cup competition. PCA were drawn to play in the Wednesday grouping and once again, whilst not getting through to the finals, the boys equipped themselves well and were a shining example for both the school and the Partington area.

After four games, the boys won 2, drew 1 and lost 1, scoring 9 goals and only conceding 2. Their loss came after some unusual decisions by a very young referee which whilst directly affecting the result, were not questioned by the players. Probably more than anything else that took place, this one game highlighted their maturity, social awareness and their ability to listen to and respect their coaches.

A great effort by everybody and an experience which will equip them well in the future.
