SUMMER (1) – April 2019

This half term we will continue to work in smaller booster groups for Maths, Reading and Punctuation to ensure that we are fully prepared for the fast-approaching SATs. These will take place the Week of the 13th May 2019.

The children have made great progress in practise tests over the last term, and we are sure that this will continue.

After-school Revision will continue to be volunteered by our Yr. 6 team this half term. This is every Tuesday from 3.05pm-4.00pm.

We ask that if you are collecting your children after this session, that you do so promptly.

Our Foundation Topics are:

Science: Humans & Animals.

History: Titanic

Art: L.S. Lowry

Geography: Map skills.

RE: World religion

English: Biography and Autobiography

This half term we would really love for children to share what books they have been reading so that other children can be given some ‘recommended reads’.

As you know, reading is so important and should be something which is shared and enjoyed. Please encourage a love of reading with your child and continue to listen to them read and discuss it together.

We will be discussing what books we have read at home in class to promote reading and would really appreciate your support with this.

The better the reader: the better the writer!
